Air quality affects the health of residents in Northern BC. Air pollution is a mixture of very small gases and particles that can be inhaled deep into the lungs and body where various health effects occur. Air pollution comes from different sources in Northern BC, including residential wood smoke, radon, road dust, wildfire smoke and industry.
