Knowledge translation

Knowledge translation and/or knowledge mobilization are a set of strategic activities with the goal to streamline research evidence uptake, support a quality improvement culture, develop ongoing learning and information spreading efforts, drive the agenda for new research and discovery, and sustain and improve health research partnerships for health impact.

Knowledge translation supports the advancement of knowledge agendas and processes across teams to strengthen the health system and health outcomes. In particular, it is a practice that is continually being developed by BC health authorities, provinces across Canada, and internationally.

At Northern Health – Knowledge translation, we work with individuals and teams across the organization.

Northern Health joins the Knowledge Translation Challenge

The Knowledge Translation (KT) Challenge is designed to support teams of clinicians (nursing, allied health, or medical staff) who are responsible for moving evidence into practice, however, may not have KT expertise.

Benefits of team participation: 

  • Help with designing your own KT project, from idea to implementation 
  • Access to KT resources, mentorship, and funding 
  • Opportunity for professional and leadership development

Five Days in May 2024

Five Days in May 2023

2023 marked the eleventh year of Five Days in May, the result of a collaboration between Fraser Health, Interior Health, Island Health and Northern Health, in partnership with the BC Network Environment for Indigenous Health Research (BC NEIHR).
