Northern Health
Mountainview Lodge is a single level building attached by a hallway to the Kitimat General Hospital & Health Centre. The building is situated within walking distance of physicians’ offices.
There is a hairdressing salon, laundry facilities, TV areas, and 2 dining areas. The main lobby has a kitchen area for activities. There are 2 tub rooms with adaptive equipment available and secure garden areas to enjoy planting activities and relaxing in under the gazebos.

Persons living Mountainview Lodge are offered spiritual support through various religious and spiritual groups. Mass is offered weekly on Wednesday’s and various church organizations visit the Lodge on Sunday’s.

There are 36 beds, 3 designated for respite and 3 short stay beds.
Residents pay 80% of their after tax income, with minimum and maximum rates set by the Ministry of Health Services. This rate covers the standard benefits provided by all long-term care homes. These costs are available on request or in the Long Term Care Home Resident and Family Handbook.
There are typical additional costs not covered by the daily rate.
Basic furniture provided includes a bed, night table and wardrobe. Residents can bring in additional small furniture items such as a chair, bookshelf and wall mount TV. Residents are encouraged to personalize their room by decorating it with pictures and things of importance.
There is a monthly recreational calendar displaying a variety of activities intended to promote physical, social, spiritual and emotional well-being. Hairdresser and barber services are available onsite. Hairdresser services are available for a fee determined by the Kitimat Hospital Auxiliary. Mountainview Lodge also provides an on-site integrated community adult day program.
Safe use of motorized scooters is determined after an Occupational Therapist assessment.
NH has a pet visitation policy. Pets may visit as long as immunizations are up to date, pet is well mannered, on a leash in common areas and family is responsible for cleaning up after pet.
All Northern Health facilities are smoke free. Residents are asked to smoke outside the facility in designated areas.
Mountainview Lodge is locked after 8 pm every night. There is a buzzer system for entry. Mountainview has a system to protect the safety of residents who may get lost or disorientated - all but two doors lead to secure outdoor areas.
Families and loved ones are partners in care and are encouraged to visit and participate in many of the day-to-day activities.
During flu season (typically December-March) all visitors need to wear a mask in our facilities if they haven't had a flu shot.
There is ample free parking close to Mountainview Lodge.
Located within walking distance of physicians’ offices and the Mountainview shopping area. The local bus stops just outside the hospital. The grocery store, pharmacy, library, banking, recreation facility, restaurants, post office, optometrist, and various other shops are situated within this radius.
