Northern Health
Peace Villa is a 124 bed facility (123 residential beds and 1 Respite bed) which is divided into two houses (Gardens and Meadows). Each house has two floors and each floor has two lanes. There are 2 – 20 bed units and 3 – 16 bed units and 3 – 12 bed units which cater to dementia and complex care. One 12 bed unit is dedicated to behavioral issues and there are 8 psycho geriatric beds which are accessed through Mental Health Services. We currently have 5 lanes which are secured to provide resident safety.
Peace Villa is attached to the new Fort St. John Hospital via a corridor link.
The building features many amenities and services including an activity room, separate dining rooms and common rooms on each lane, Spiritual room, two separate recreation areas, hair salon, sitting areas on balconies, courtyards and laundry rooms.
Nail & foot care, and hairdressing/barber services are also available.
Persons living in a long-term care home are offered spiritual support through various religious and spiritual groups. Spiritual care may be provided through group meetings, one-to-one visits, sermons and music & song.

We have 115 subsidized residential beds including 1 respite bed. Single rooms with washroom and shower facilities available in each room.
Residents pay 80% of their after tax income, with minimum and maximum rates set by the Ministry of Health Services. This rate covers the standard benefits provided by all long-term care homes. These costs are available on request or in the Long Term Care Home Resident and Family Handbook.
There are typical additional costs not covered by the daily rate.
Basic furniture is provided includes a bed, night table, wardrobe or dresser, and lamp. Residents can bring in additional small furniture items such as a chair, bookshelf/TV stand. Residents are encouraged to personalize their room by decorating it with pictures and things of importance as long as they comply with P3 guidelines.
Peace Villa provides Recreational Therapy Services5 days a week. Pastoral and Spiritual Services are provided by the Peace Villa Worship Services and community volunteers. There is a Volunteer Program in place to support recreational activities. Hairdressing and barber services are available on site for a fee determined by the service provider.
Peace Villa also provides an on-site integrated community adult day program, operating 5 days a week.
Motorized Scooter storage is available on site.
NH has a pet visitation policy. Pets may visit as long as immunizations are up to date, pet is well mannered, on a leash in common areas and family is responsible for cleaning up after pet.
All Northern Health facilities are smoke free. Residents are asked to smoke outside the facility in designated areas.
The facility has locked doors with FOB (computer chip) access only. Secured entry and exit to each wing/courtyard. Front entrance secure after business hours and weekends with access through charge nurse phone.
Families and loved ones are partners in care and are encouraged to visit and participate in many of the day-to-day activities.
During flu season (typically December-March) all visitors need to wear a mask in our facilities if they haven't had a flu shot.
Peace Villa is located on the outside boundary of Fort St John – Taxi, buses and Handi-Dart improve accessibility to the downtown core.
