Northern Health
Acropolis Manor is composed of three units East Pod, North Pod and West Pod. All Pods are located on the main floor. The two palliative beds are located in East Pod and the three short stay beds are dispersed throughout the three pods.
The building features many amenities and services including a large and small multi-purpose room used for social functions and can be reserved for private family functions. We also have a smaller activities room for small group activities and a kitchen also used for recreational activities, including residents’ programming. There are indoor lounges on each pod and outdoor courtyards that connect the large multi-purpose room and each pod.
Persons living in a long-term care home are offered spiritual support through various religious and spiritual groups that come to the facility on a weekly rotation. Spiritual care may be provided through group meetings, one –to-one visits, sermons and music & song.

We have 56 beds including 3 respire beds plus 5 short stay beds. Acropolis Manor has a combination of single and double occupancy rooms.
Residents pay 80% of their after tax income, with minimum and maximum rates set by the Ministry of Health Services. This rate covers the standard benefits provided by all long-term care homes. These costs are available on request or in the Long Term Care Home Resident and Family Handbook.
There are typical additional costs not covered by the daily rate.
Basic furniture is provided includes a bed, night table, wardrobe or dresser, and lamp. Residents can bring in additional small furniture items such as a chair, bookshelf/TV stand. Residents are encouraged to personalize their room by decorating it with pictures and things of importance.
Recreation opportunities are established by the Recreation Therapist who develops therapeutic and leisure interventions that are tailored to support the mental, physical, social and spiritual well-being of the residents who live at Acropolis Manor.
Motorized Scooter storage is available on site.
NH has a pet visitation policy. Pets may visit as long as immunizations are up to date, pet is well mannered, on a leash in common areas and family is responsible for cleaning up after pet.
All Northern Health facilities are smoke free. Residents are asked to smoke outside the facility in designated areas.
Security checks are conducted nightly. The facility has locked doors with swipe cared access.
Secured entry and exit to each wing. Resident and family provided with a swipe card at admission unless safety concerns are noted otherwise. Front entrance secure after business hours and weekends.
Families and loved ones are partners in care and are encouraged to visit and participate in many of the day-to-day activities.
During flu season (typically December-March) all visitors need to wear a mask in our facilities if they haven't had a flu shot.
Parking is available to visitors and family. There are 4 handicap parking spots available.
Acropolis Manor is attached to Prince Rupert Regional Hospital through a covered link on one end. Downtown is minutes away and residents can access Handi-Dart and taxi services as needed.
