1-in-5 Canadians live with arthritis
Arthritis is over 100 different conditions that cause inflammation in the joints or other areas of the body. While each person may be impacted differently, individuals with arthritis often experience redness, swelling, pain and stiffness. There are two categories of arthritis: Osteoarthritis (OA) and Rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
HealthLink BC provides a wealth of information about both Osteoarthritis (OA) and Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), including causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
If you or a loved one have osteoarthritis, Vancouver Coastal Health has information about managing and living well with OA. Though there is no cure for OA at this time, you can take an active role in your health through self-management.
The OASIS program offers Zoom classes every month that are free for anyone living with OA. Topics range from nutrition, sleep and stress management, working remotely, as well as education about specific forms of OA.
