Aboriginal Health Improvement Committee, NW - Smithers

Aboriginal Health Improvement Committee Information

The Aboriginal Health Improvement Committee (AHIC) is a venue where you can bring your health care concerns, info on events and/or opportunities.  AHIC members include health representatives from First Nations Communities, Aboriginal organizations (First Nations Inuit Health Branch, interim First Nations Health Authority, Friendship Centers, etc.), Metis and local Northern Health leadership.  The AHICs meet to share information and work in partnership on identified health care issues facing Aboriginal people in the area.

To find out more about the AHIC in your area or if you have health care issues that you want to bring to the committee's attention, contact the Health Service Administrator.  In Smithers, your contact is Chris Simms at Chris.Simms@northernhealth.ca or at 250-847-6202.

You can forward information about your upcoming events/opportunities or information that you would like to share with AHIC members to the administrative assistant for your area.  In Smithers this is Shelley Becker at Shelley.Becker@northernhealth.ca or at 250-847-6201.
