7th National Community Cancer Care Summit

June 11 & 12, 2009

Prince George Civic Centre

Prince George has been nominated to host the 7th National Community Cancer Care Summit to take place on June 11 and 12, 2009. 

The Summit will be attended by health care practitioners to share successes and exchange knowledge regarding rural and remote cancer control issues. Speakers at the Summit will be focusing on workable solutions for patient care and systems delivery issues.

The Summit will feature presentations on innovative solutions in the following control-related categories: Improving access to services; Human Resources; IT and Telehealth; Increase/ Maximize Resources; and Share Best Practices.

Aging Well in Northern, Rural, and Remote Communities conference:
March 26 & 27, 2008 - Prince George, BC

Presented by the University of Northern British Columbia, Northern Health, the BC Network for Aging Research (BCNAR), the BC Rural and Remote Health Research Network (BCRRHRN), the Network Environments for Aboriginal Research BC (NEARBC) and the BC Home and Community Care Research Network (HCCRN), the conference will explore a major challenge faced by seniors living in the North: the effect that social and geographic isolation has on seniors' health and their ability to access health services.
