"Let's Talk About Addictions and Mental Health"

From May 23 to July 13, Northern Health sought feedback from local residents on how to improve addictions and mental health services across Northern BC. Interested individuals and groups across the North were able to offer their feedback by completing either a comment form and/or attending a local community meeting.

Responses gathered from residents across the North during this consultation have been compiled in a public report released November 8, 2007.

The consultation meetings and comment form focused on several broad questions about addictions and mental health care in Northern communities, including:

• What do you think of the current addictions and mental health services and supports in your community and across the north?

• How can community groups, agencies, organizations, and NH better work with each other to support people living with addictions and/or mental health issues?

• How can families, friends, and other caring individuals support those living with addictions and mental illness?
